Airline IT Trends

Undertaken annually by SITA and Airline Business magazine the Airline IT Trends Survey has helped to raise the profile of IT to strategic Board level. Now in its tenth year, the data provides a set of benchmarks offering a detailed picture of the latest IT landscape.

Airport IT Trends

The Airport IT Trends Survey is based on confidential responses made by a number of airport/operators. This survey of IT Trends among the world’s top 200 airport operators has found that tackling congestion and meeting security demands are the main drivers behind IT investment as 2.1 billion passengers enplaned last year and their numbers continue to grow at over 5% per annum.

Global airline IT security survey

The SITA Global Airline IT Security Survey 2007 provides an insight into IT security trends within the air and travel industry. This survey builds on the study undertaken in 2006 to show how airline security professionals are tackling the pressures presented by the perennial requirement to deliver secure services in a fast and efficient manner.

Passenger self-service survey

The 2nd SITA Passenger Self-Service Survey was conducted earlier this year at departure gates in Atlanta, Hong Kong and London Heathrow airports. It shows that 39% of passengers rate their ability to make travel arrangements on the web as an influencing factor in the booking decision. This ranks this factor ahead of airlines services (31%) and previous travel experience (27%), and closer to more traditional considerations such as routing and schedule in a category which is invariably dominated by price (65%).
